Blair Estate Coffee produces 100% Kauai grown organic coffee. With the assistance of this grant, a new coffee pulper and green coffee classifier were purchased. The water efficient coffee pulper is helping the operation to achieve a higher level of efficiency resulting in cost savings, doubling processing capacity and a reduction in overall processing time. The coffee classifier has increased the quality of the green coffee bean output.
Blair Estate has a positive impact on agriculture and provides community benefits as well. The company employs 20-30 part-time Kauai residents to harvest raw coffee cherry. The company contributes to the overall strength of the agricultural community and to the local economy by purchasing an array of farm supplies, printing services, website services packaging and shipping each year.
